Call for papers

Papers and panel proposals

The call for papers for the 2018 Australasian Aid Conference (AAC) has closed. All authors will be advised whether their abstract or panel has been accepted no later than 24 November 2017.

The conference is multidisciplinary in nature and we welcome papers and panel proposals from academics and practitioners on the following topics related to aid and international development:

• Aid effectiveness, at both the micro and macro level
• The political economy and politics of aid
• Aid and security
• Aid from non-traditional donors
• Aid and gender
• Aid and the private sector
• Humanitarian aid
• International public goods (climate change, global health, etc.)
• Migration and international trade policy, from a development perspective
• The international aid and development architecture, including the G20, World Bank, and other international agencies

Please be advised that if your abstract is accepted, you will then be required to register for the conference. Registration information and fee details can be found here.

We will cover travel within Australia and accommodation costs for a limited number of PhD and postgraduate students, especially those who can present research from their thesis.

Additionally, we will waive registration fees for a limited number of presenters who are citizens of and will be travelling from a developing country to present at the conference. For these purposes, ‘developing country’ is defined using this list.

Please note that, due to limited resources, receipt of travel support and registration fee waivers cannot be guaranteed for all eligible presenters.
