Gangs vote for chaos in PNG poll
Stephen Howes told Ben Packham at The Australian that the violence during the current election campaign highlights the need for ”radical reform” in Papau New Guinea, including the appointment of an expatriate head of the PNG Electoral Commission.
”It doesn’t have to be an Australian,” Howes said. “You could bring in someone from India, which has a very successful electoral system. But they need to really shake things up.”
