New paper on road maintenance in PNG
Local media covered the launch of Devpolicy Research Fellow Matthew Dornan’s NRI Issues Paper in Port Moresby in October.
The well-attended launch of the paper at the National Research Institute was covered by EMTV, The National and The Post Courier.
The paper, titled ‘Road Management Reform: The Papua New Guinea Road Fund and National Roads Authority’, argues that a lack of support and engagement from successive political leaders and parts of the civil service has undermined the potential impact of the PNG Road Fund and National Roads Authority, and that the newly established road management organisations remain marginal as a result.
