Dirk van der Kley is a Research Fellow at the National Security College who specialises on technology competition and innovation between the US and China, with a particular interest in biological technologies.
Prior to joining ANU, Dirk was the Program Director for Policy Research at China Matters. He previously worked at the Lowy Institute for International Affairs. Dirk has a BA (Chinese studies / Mathematics) from the University of Sydney (1st Class Hons), and a PhD from the ANU. He is fluent in Chinese, Russian and currently studying Korean.
