Sophie Yates is a Research Fellow at the Crawford School of Public Policy, ANU and was previously Research Fellow at the Public Service Research Group, School of Business, UNSW Canberra and the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG). Her research focuses on value creation, co-production and service experiences, particularly for people from marginalised groups. Sophie has published on issues such as gender and family violence, gender equality in the military, disability policy, and services for people leaving prison. She is co-editor of the Edward Elgar Research Handbook on Public Management and COVID-19 (2024) and co-author (with Al Stark) of Public Inquiries and Policy Design (Cambridge Elements, 2024). She is Associate Editor of the Australian Journal of Social Issues and editorial board member of Public Management Review and the Australian Journal of Public Administration. Her work has appeared in top international journals and she has won several awards for her research.
