The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) was established in 2016 with 57 founding members including Australia. Today, the bank had 109 members. The AIIB has approved 233 projects since 2016 worth US$42 billion.
The President of the AIIB, Mr Jin Liqun, visited Australia in October 2023 and delivered a public lecture at the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University. His talk covered AIIB’s growth, the Bank’s climate and development priorities, and Australia’s influential role in shaping the Bank’s evolution.
